  • My first day at school and at work…

My first day at school and at work…

Tell us about your first day at something — school, work, as a parent, etc.

    Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…

Well I’m not a parent right now and don’t plan on being one anytime soon, but if time and life exists I’d love to have at least one child…!

Well I can share with you two instances,

One being the very first day I started school. I remember it was a Monday and my mother and father drove me to my school where I saw children crying as it was the orientation day and as parents separated from their children they walked back to the school gate with tears streaming down their cheeks, screaming “mumma/papa” whoever they were close with,

    But me,

    I was completely silent and wished them goodbye too, as I sat on my seat in an empty classroom because many skipped the first day as the children began crying as they came near the school gate;

All in it was a good day, we had fun, learnt new things and that was it for the day, around 12 it was our time to go back home, and I remember tears in my Mother’s eyes as she came to take me back to home and i was happy to see her as we went back home…

    Another instance is first day at work…;

It was the middle of August and my father told me to swing by work, to drop off something that they forgot home, and as I arrived at the workplace I greeted him and gave him a file that he forgot, and as I was about to leave he asked me about work..?

And I wanted to know what he meant,

He said Point blank that he wanted me to continue our family business and also study as I got time to which I told him that either it will be work or studies because industrial work requires a strong backbone and working long tireless hours which in fact affect the other 16 hours of your life making you extremely tired and stressed about the next day…

And as I started work I fought a lot with him with myself too, because all of the studies I perused came to a halt and all of my relationships built came to a standstill, because I hadn’t earned anything yet and I was given an ultimatum that they won’t be spending any more money on my studies and I have to work there…

And after learning that a piece of my feelings began to die for my father each day,

But this day that my father is no longer among us I believe that it was the best thing to happen because we bonded over things that made us similar and I got to spend more time with him during his final years with them…

    A win-win for the both of us…

Didn’t want to take it to such a negative point but life happens…

Well happy weekend to those who have the days off and enjoy your life to the fullest, hug your kids and tell them you love them…

    Cheers 🥂

  • To experiences that shape us…

    To experiences that shape us…

Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?

    Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…

    Yes, I’ve had a few opportunities to present myself on stage with and without a group;

I presented a speech all alone twice and I had all of the fear before it, legs feeling like jelly, those eyes staring at me like I owe them something, but once in my zone I performed what I had to it was a speech about a religious leader the topic that I picked way back…

    Another one was a rather small group that worked in an informal setting a few strangers and a piece of information that we shared and debated it to come to a standard conclusion,;

A mere two person discussion turned into a few people taking their side and my side, it was a topic that has such a deep belief that we all had views on it “God’s existence and his overlooking those who were unfortunate…”

And after the heat of discussion subsided we all had tea and called it a night as we walked away a bit better person, by learning someone’s side and some facts that even changed our beliefs…

There were instances that we had musical performances during schooling too, which were often in groups because they shifted the focus and stress from a single child to the group, which was fun and enjoyable even for the audience because they were a part of us too as they enjoyed it as much as us…

A few instances but they shaped a version that can be traced deviated from a standard path to what it is now expanding forever…

    To experiences like these that shape us for the better;

    Cheers 🥂

  • The stress associated after work…

    The stress associated after work…

What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?

    Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…

The part of routine that I can avoid or skip would be the stress associated with work that constantly looms over my head…

    The constant pressure of preparing, of being active and on my toes has broken the foundation that I stand on;

Some days it feels like a break from it would be better,

But returning to it feels like a trap that I exited for a little while,

after seeing clear open skies I have to walk into the cage to be trapped yet again and work within these tubes that trap my existence within them for 10 hours daily…

    Cheers 🥂

Some laughters and life lessons worth hearing…

What podcasts are you listening to?

    Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…

Well there aren’t many podcasts that I’m in these days but there are a few that bless my ears…

    One of the podcasts that I used to listen to was “Violating community guidelines” by Sarah Schauer and Brittany Broski;

I know weird names but they complimented each other and the funny instances on their podcasts were so hilarious that I often laughed out while working making people think that I’ve gone crazy 🤪..

48 episodes discussing the trends on the social media and what went on during the year 2022 and the end of it,

Started in January of ‘22 ending in December of the same year, Ive found myself to go back to it year after year and boost my mood and give me laugh whenever life pins me down…

These days I’m invested in a podcast called Alan watts daily wisdom and yes they’re sharing the timeless teachings of the philosopher Alan watts through ai in his voice to all the world to listen and view too…

Started a month ago and 24 videos in gathering a whopping 108k followers as we speak (on yt) I’ve found it very helpful and informative by giving me insight to live this life better in ways that are often overlooked…

Hope you will find these worth your while…

  • A lesson that still stays with me.

A lesson that still stays with me.

What was your favorite subject in school?

    Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…

Those times were the ultimate, we could play and be ourselves(our real self) without bothering anyone and do things that we liked instead of what we are right now,

how we act today to get what we want…

    Leaving it at that,

My favourite subject was history, in specific ancient Indian history, which I found very interesting due to a dedicated teacher and her clear vision to impart everything that she learnt during her life to her students…

    The lessons were long according to some students (45 minutes) but I couldn’t get enough of them ever, also there were people who hated it from their very core;

But there were others who loved it too and along with them we formed a group who were very much in love with it and wanted to learn as much as possible within a short period of time…

We went on walks, explored locations and visited historic sites along with our teacher and learnt all the facts firsthand…

Many years have passed and most of us still remember the lessons that she used to teach us and often we remember how much condensed information she fed to us within a span of two years…

The best years of our lives…

Hope you find a teacher/sir in life that sparks such interest and curiosity in you that has ripple effect all over your life…

    Cheers 🥂

  • Life saving advices to cut screen time…

Life saving advices to cut screen time…

How do you manage screen time for yourself?

    Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…

I’m pretty sure most of the world is suffering with this disease of a very long screen time, hooked on Instagram reels, YouTube shorts and videos, clips on TikTok and many more…

    Time seem to pass by so quickly when we are hooked on them that it feels unreal;

You started watching them at 10 at night and suddenly it’s 1:30 before you can see the time on the phone which was there all the time…

There are a lot of things that I use to achieve my goal of reducing screen time a few of them are->

    • Having a separate phone for doing writing without any distractions so that I can focus when otherwise I would find a way to stop writing and doom-scroll Instagram..
    • Tracking screen time on both my phones just to keep in touch with how much I used a single app and how much I need to cut back…
    • Presetting a timer on each app which I use a lot for example I set a timer for an hour on Instagram which is a lot less from 4-5 hours which used to happen without knowing…
    • Trying to avoid using phones for the first few hours I usually wake up and pen my ideas or any dreams that I had, which makes all of it interesting as it boosts my writing skills and also imaginative skills which help me remember what happened in my dream world…
    • And at last, I keep my phones a bit away from me like for charging away from me when I have free time so I’d have to walk to it to get it as I’m on my bed, which cuts the interest in getting up and grabbing it a bit more…

The last one is a big mind thing I know…😭😂

And I hope these works for someone in need…

    Cheers 🥂

  • A holiday tailored for yourself…

    A holiday tailored for yourself…

Invent a holiday! Explain how and why everyone should celebrate.

    Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…

I’d like to point out this days prompt, there are other holidays too, there were people who were pioneers who shaped our city our country this entire world too,

But even on their birthday or the day they passed away we continue to live our lives without giving any single thought as to who they were and what they achieved in their life which continues to affect us till this day…

How one celebrates is entirely upto them if one feels that they can live their life fully by shutting themselves in,

Or by taking a few more hours of sleep,

    Even an extra long bath,

There are so many little things that affect our lives in the long run that we forget to live them…

It might be spending time with a loved one or visiting family that lives far just for a single day…

A holiday that would be spend according to your own needs would be a holiday in actuality, no matter what the mind desires and it’s able to achieve/do that…

That’d be the holiday where you can follow your own routine that you make for yourself and nothing matters to anyone but you…

A dream holiday where everyone does what they want at their own pace

“A holiday catered to your own needs”

(A new week is upon us and I hope it’s a smooth sail ahead…)

    Cheers 🥂

  • Layers of Romance: Emotional Depth in Love and Writing

Layers of Romance: Emotional Depth in Love and Writing

    Daily writing prompt
    What’s your definition of romantic?

    Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…

What an open-ended question this one is,
    without a context,
without any relation to how we are supposed to work,
romanticism in the sense of a literary writing,
or romantic in a relationship sense…?

    But,
that’s the cue to work around the topic of this day,
and we will go ahead anyways…

My definition of romantic (or romance) in a general sense isn’t clouded by the want to just get in bed with them,
    but,
    to understand them,
    the things that they like,
    the things that they hate,
    the way they grew up,
    and from that understanding,
what shaped them the way they are,
or how they respond to an action or a cue,
    which they like or don’t,
helping me to stay clear off the things that haunted them in their past,
all the while helping them come to terms with what they were in their past,
    isn’t something that is going to affect their present;

    Also,
    showering them with gifts,
taking them out on their days off,
and exploring new places with them,
as we walk hand in hand,
traveling with them maybe using the public transport every once in a while,
    and gifting flowers,
and dropping them home or near it,
how the relationship is at that point of time…

See how I didn’t talk about having or getting your physical needs met here,
because that’s how it is initially,
taking it slow and knowing that in some cultures,
things like these take place after marriage,
    and that’s acceptable,
    but,
    when things are forced,
and they are coerced into doing something that they don’t agree to,
    or like,
would naturally mean that you’re there only to satiate yourself,
and then drop her after the sun rises the next day…

    Due to that,
this path becomes extremely tricky for both,
where one has to make sure things are mutual and in agreement,
    with proper boundaries set…

Whereas romanticism in literary sense comes in when things like these are experienced and a person who loves to write pens his real emotions and feelings,
about how they are truly, madly and deeply in love,
    with the said person,
to the point they write (Of course in some hidden sense),
    about their love,
    their feelings,
which can be mutual or one sided,
    but,
portraying an image in a sense that’s appealing to read,
and can be experienced by those who are around them,
without even being in a relationship to call it something that they themselves dream of being in…

So romantic aspect is much needed in life,
    where a person exposes themselves,
    layer by layer,
in a sense to a person,
they intend to spend the foreseeable future with…

    That’s romanticism for me,
    to you…

    Cheers 🥂

    All alone they were,
After a long time they were finally together,
There was deep longing in those eyes,
    And a want,
A need that needed to be expressed,
    But,
Who would make the first move…?

    The first move,
After a span of three months,
    These months,
    Akin to years spent apart,
    Seeing only each other,
    And talking like strangers,
Whenever they had some time on their hands,
    And these hands,
    Waited,
    Waited all of these days,
    Waited these weeks,
    Waited all these Months;

    Now,
    These hands,
    Were in those,
    Where they belonged…

    A bottle of Merlot,
    And two glasses were there,
    A third of the way,
    Maybe a sip was taken,
    Before things took a turn…

From kissing the back of her hand,
    To her shoulder blade,
    And from there,
    Those pink supple lips,

    Her face tilted,
    Eyes half closed,
    Waiting were these lips,
    For a sweet little kiss..

A known flavor coated his mouth,
    Her born lippy lip balm,
    The strawberry kind,
    Those eyes; glowing,
    Overflowing with emotions;

“Cannot tell you how much I waited,
    Waited for this day..”

    As those eyes shined,
    As she stared into his…

Influential Leaders: Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Legacy

    Daily writing prompt
Who is your favorite historical figure?

    Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…

    Well,
another day another great prompt it is,
    my favorite historical figure…

Have you ever heard of Maharaja Ranjit Singh…?

One of the most admired figures even this day in Panjab,
with such a leadership that extended from near borders of Afghanistan,
    Khyber Pass in current Pakistan,
to Panjab’s Satluj river in current day Panjab…

The sole leader who had the power to unify Sikh factions,
making the land of Panjab a secular empire where the rules of each religions were followed and respected,
being a Sikh he was inclusive of all people,
including keeping people from different faith in administrative and military positions,
which were very important to give to anybody…

The religious sites and their protection belonging to different faiths,
to the point he ordered repair of Mosques and temples,
    Also,
The credits of modernization the forces belong to him,
hiring European mercenaries and military experts to train the army,
Having a special branch called Fauj-e-khas,
specializing in close order formation and bayonet tactics…

    Having invested in artillery,
    cannon foundries were built,
    and field guns were standardized,
and that induced fear in the British Raj’s mind,
which were also because of traditional Sikh fighters,
    called Nihangs ;
known for their ferocious nature and tactics that brought enemies to their knees…

Training men and equipping them with better arms than the rest of the states,
while keeping British rule at bay,
And his work and life were mentioned in British curriculum later…

    Respecting Hindu sentiments,
    cow slaughter was banned,
and having a corruption free court even though diverse,
    that had wide focuses,
    and,
    living a modest life,
He never took the title of Maharaja,
    But,
he accepted himself as the Servant of Khalsa…

Having a court in Lahore that became a center of culture and arts,
    Also,
    architectural marvel,
    Known as,
    “SHER-E-PANJAB”
    “LION OF PANJAB”,

    remembered till this day,
with deep respect by Panjabi speakers and Sikhs worldwide…

Imagine being alive at that point of time,
    to witness all of this…!

  • The Power of Personal Taglines in Everyday Life

The Power of Personal Taglines in Everyday Life

    Daily writing prompt
If humans had taglines, what would yours be?

    Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…

    Another day,
another great prompt if you ask me,
    if us humans,
each and every one of us had their own tagline,
    a catchy phrase,
or something indicating the type of person they are,
or the type of work they do,
which would easily cut down a lot of unnecessary conversations,
    or a part thereof..

    Imagine,
if you were in need of a lawyer,
and on introduction in an informal setting,
    they said their tagline,
    like,

    “A proficient lawyer,
and an attorney with 25 years of experience,
tracing the footsteps of (their parent’s business),
and taking real pride in their work…”

Doesn’t this make things much simple,
like you know what you want and what are you looking for,
with a simple introduction that starts with a tagline,
and you already know if you want to continue the conversation or not….

    But,
there has to be some strict laws that are guiding them,
imagine someone forging their data or information,
    (A much real possibility.)
just for securing a deal or a job and after that fleeing the scene without a trace,
which in fact nullifies all of the effort and dependence on this tagline system….

If you were to ask a normal person about this,
they would for sure be expressive of their feelings,
    and within it,
    in plain sight where their professional skills would be told in an easy-to-understand way;
    But,
    if they were seeking companionship,
they would add things that might be common like their interests like birdwatching or going on hikes,
or dog walking or something like keeping a garden,
which would signify that he takes care of his surroundings and loves animals and such,
    making them a viable candidate…

    Again,
    we’d have to be careful,
that someone doesn’t come up with things that they can’t do,
and they added it just to make themselves sound better and get what ulterior motives they had…

    NOW,
What would be my tagline you ask…?

    “A hardworking person,
who tries to fit themselves into places that are new and difficult,
just to expose and gain enough skills to be a better person,
    A writer too,
who writes without boundaries and seeks new experiences,
to be a better storyteller to his kids and grandkids as he ages like fine Wine,
    coming from a business family,
and importance of learning things from scratch makes them always open for new innovation,
and skills that can be honed and refined further…”

    Cheers 🥂

    A table full of people,
    waiting for someone’s arrival,
a person of character for whom they gathered there,
much more valuable his time was than theirs…

    As they ordered some entrees,
a few drinks on the table,
slowly everyone’s taglines escaped their mouths,
    a business owner,
    a housewife,
    a diligent employee,
    a secretary,
    and a newly appointed receptionist,
    and in the background,
    a newly married couple,
    sharing the same last name,
sobbing she was as he consoled her…

As he watched from the corner,
waiting for things to settle down,
    as his phone rang,
    on hearing the news,
    he went silent,
a single beep continued as he heard the news…

We couldn’t save the people in the vehicle,
a drunk driver whose tagline said,
“An addict who was clean from the past 5 years…”
was in fact drunk and ran a red light
crashing into the car in which his wife and kid were,
    killing them on the spot…

The girl on being a friend of the nurse in the hospital,
which their lifeless body came in,
    and confirming her,
    of the worst fears…

As he got up to approach them,
    they climbed into their vehicles,
    and drove to the hospital,
    unknown to the happening,
    he sat there,
    as he recognized,
    a similar car,
a similar number plate and a similar bumper sticker,
    before they flashed a photo,
with him and his wife and a child merely 7,
    his whole world uprooted,
as the tires screeched and in the parking lot of hospital he was,
where they saw the remainder of his family surrounded by news reporters,
    as he slid past them,
    he saw,
    on the gurney,
    bruised up,
scratched and heavily injured body of his wife,
    and on the other,
    a crushed one,
    from the direct impact,
    on the passenger’s side,
    A small,
    little one,
    his little one,
laughing and playing with his toys hours before…

    As he screamed silently,
    curling up in a ball,
unknown to how he would face,
    face this world ever again…

    “A fault in the system…”
