  • Pseudo—camping and joining back work….!

    Have you ever been camping?

    1/05/2026@Waakiye

    Hey…

    I hope all of you are doing well…!

    It was a slow day at work yesterday and I had to join back someday and I told myself why not today…!

    So I went back to work and started where I left off and began working on the blanks that I prepared before I took the days off for my sister’s wedding…!

    I was able to hunk off quite a bit of material and I think I will be done with what was left around 1 in the afternoon—

    And I will begin on the second lot today itself and prepare some material for stock as we were running out of it before I went on my leave…!

    A packed day it is and it will be a long one too,

    but,

    I need to draw a line somewhere,

    I need to fulfill the promises I made to myself and set boundaries at work like working for a finite amount of time and we have started to reject emergency orders which bring us under a lot of pressure and even after the order is complete we are given the same amount that we were supposed to get if we were doing it on a normal time like a span of a day or two…!

    It’s a lot of work that we are turning down but that comes after being forced to work like literal machines and not being paid adequately for it…!

    And once that happens we can charge extra for the emergency work that requires same day action on something…!

    It’s not something I see purely from a business pov but;

    I see it from a view that it gives us a sense of accomplishment and we are adequately paid for it too because we are making time from our packed routine to accommodate your emergency…!

    Something that is hard to see if you’re not looking at it from an industrial pov where things go wrong and require maintenance at every single step…!

    Coming back to the prompt

    Camping and my views on it

    Let me be honest;

    I’ve never been on a camping trip per se—

    like,

    We didn’t plan in advance and bought gear and prepared ourselves and took training for setting up tent and any other thing…!

    But—

    I’ve been to enough hill stations and have enjoyed the pseudo-camps that they have set up there…!

    I remember a trip to a place called narkanda which is 60 something kilometres upwards of Shimla and where we booked our homestay…!

    And at that place they were setting up these tents next to the bonfire that they had made out of old metal drums and they were putting in wood that they brought from a shed that was attached to the property…!

    and after paying extra we got in those tents and took the feeling of what it feels like camping…!

    Well,

    pseudo—camping to be honest

    because all of the stuff was provided to us like food in plates and timber was added to the fire by the homestay staff;

    and all we did was sit put in that rent and even blankets were provided to us in that tent and we slept like logs…!

    Let me bring your attention to

    Pseudo—camping

    because that is what we did,

    we didn’t hunt(pretty sure that isn’t allowed here in India)

    we didn’t cut down trees to keep the fire running,

    and we didn’t set up tent as it was already there;

    But,

    we did feel like we did camping…!

    (or maybe in an essence…)

    To camping—

    A pseudo one if you may;

    Cheers 🥂

  • An Indian kid’s favourite festival and the aftermath of a wedding programme…!

    An Indian kid’s favourite festival and the aftermath of a wedding programme…!

    What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?

    30/04/2026@Waakiye

    Hey…

    I hope all of you are doing well…!

    I’m back here after a gap of a few days and successfully completing my sisters wedding programme…

    A few things still remain incomplete and a few payments still remain pending which will be completed in the coming week…!

    We have that sort of liberty with businesses we made purchase from because we buy stuff from them on the regular and we started our conversation with this fact that we are from the bride’s side and we will have expenses…!

    And,

    only after they agreed we picked up stuff from them;

    The time forward will be of a lot of hardwork and we will have to pinch ourselves and save each and every penny(well in our case rupee)

    Because in the coming days ahead there will be people who will be visiting us both from ours and grooms side and we will have to prepare ourselves accordingly;

    And,

    I’m happy for the fact that we were able to manage it on our own,

    well we took help of my cousins and a brother who is not blood related but took the place of someone who’s more than that and arranged it all for us…!

    Other than that,

    all of us will be operating in recovery mode because we moved so much here and there each day;

    All of my joints are making a clicking noise when I move and I can’t seem to do away with the back pain that has been surging from the day before the programme started;

    Maybe because I had to sleep on a foam mattress that we took from a business on rent…!

    All of this will generally fade away on its own,

    but,

    I’ll find a doctor or a physiotherapist if the pain persists longer than a few more days…!

    Coming back to the prompt

    My favourite holiday and why I like it…

    Being an Indian and Panjabi Brahmin on top of that;

    We don’t celebrate Easter or Christmas but we do get involved with the people following Christianity in their celebrations…!

    For me it would be

    Diwali 🪔

    A festival that all of the nation celebrates at the same time and welcomes goddess Lakshmi asking her for prosperity in our home;

    Also lighting diyas 🪔 in our homes;

    Just like the people did in Ayodhya when lord Rama won the war with Lord Ravana…!

    We,

    Well most Indian children like it because we are with our family, eat sweets and we are handed over money in the form of gifts and we can use it however we want when we are adults;

    But,

    when we were kids all of it was taken away from us by our parents…!

    something that still stays with us even after so many years…!

    We are together and we pray to the almighty to bless us and the people around us with life and prosperity and we also ask for forgiveness for our mistakes and shortcomings that we have and also ask for the power to get over them in the coming year…!

    We also ask the almighty—

    For a better life to those who have left for the holy abode and maybe reincarnation into another life…!

    A festival that reminds us of the people who we were with last year and their presence is missed if they aren’t with us anymore…!

    Cheers 🥂

  • Two encounters that brought my hopes up…!

    Two encounters that brought my hopes up…!

    Describe a random encounter with a stranger that stuck out positively to you.

    18/04/2026@Waakiye

    Hey…

    I hope all of you are doing well…!

    It was a tough day at work yesterday,

    As I had to stand on my feet all day and compete a job that required my regular interference as we are running against time here…!

    it will be another couple of days like this and I’ll have to spend them on my feet, which will for sure hurt a bit this evening…!

    Other than that,

    All of the preparations are done just the essentials that are to be bought next week are left…!

    Some of which can be bought on spot and I’ll confirm the rest this evening to a mithai shop in Pahar Ganj soon..!

    only thing that will be left is paying the rest and picking up the boxes on the day of the function..!

    (This is somewhere we see money is everything, you pay an advance and they will happily make anything/everything you want…!)

    Coming back to the prompt

    A random encounter that stuck positively…!

    It was a cold winter’s night as I was returning to home from work…!

    I had to take a detour and drive through todapur/inderpuri area,

    The road that follows Pusa(IARI Indian agricultural research institute)

    Also called dev Prakash Shashtri marg…!

    I was travelling there on my scooty and it’s drive belt snapped in half mid drive;

    Coincidentally no one was home and I was all alone,

    as I pushed it for a good 10 minutes and looked for a mechanic but u couldn’t find anyone…!

    So a Stranger,

    A person sent from almighty came and asked me about what happened…!

    On telling him about the belt,

    he agreed to push me to the nearest mechanic;

    which was a good four, maybe five kilometres away…!

    So he put his feet on my scooter’s silencer and pushed me to the nearest mechanic,

    before I could get off near the mechanic and thank him,

    he drove off and raised his hand not above his soulder level and his palm facing inwards and he drove off away from me…!

    it was one of those instances where I wanted to thank, but I couldn’t but I really did from my heart and wished his well being…!

    Another one would be a complete stranger,

    Asking me about my well being,

    while I was sitting waiting for the last train back from Shaheed Sthal station after securing some payment from a client and maybe it was showing on my face but as soon as I opened my camera app it looked like I was on the verge of dying…!

    So he asked about me,

    Where was I from and such things,

    and if I was well…!

    On giving limited answers and not revealing much about myself,

    he sat next to me and I opened up to him,

    it was a few months after a death happened in our family and that old person told me the genetic answers,

    It’s the truth,

    and we have to accept it,

    and many other things…!

    One of the last things he told me was that the person who I liked/loved who’s no more; They won’t be happy if i kept myself in this condition any longer…!

    Those words hit hard and even if they’re no more,

    and I was living without a purpose;

    I found these strangers words like a ointment to my wounds…

    And he too walked away climbing the stairs and by that time my train came too and I boarded it and reached home…!

    Sometimes a stranger’s words do more better than anyone who is near and dear to us…!

    G0d save all those who get out of the way to check up on the people who feel like they’re carrying dread in their eyes…!

    Cheers 🥂

  • A letter penned to those who are long gone…!

    A letter penned to those who are long gone…!

    How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?

    Hey…

    I hope all of you are doing well…!

    Yesterday’s prompt ended with a tragic news—

    A paternal aunt,

    Well the last surviving one,

    passed away in her sleep…!

    .

    I wasn’t able to go because we are hosting the marriage of my sister this month;

    Neither me, my mom nor my sister were able to go;

    So,

    My uncle went with his son,

    To Ambala, Haryana;

    Where she breathed her last…!

    All I felt as I went to work were the blues and a sense of loss,

    Because I do remember that we were talking about inviting her and her family by going to her residence this weekend…!

    (Khair…)

    Can we say anything in-front of the face of death,

    Except—

    Accepting the fate and clearing up all the problems and confusions…?

    Coming back to the prompt

    An already answered prompt…!

    😅

    No,

    I’m not joking…!🙃

    Here’s the proof…!

    And I believe in not answering the same question in the same way without much considerable changes in the environment or the context of the question

    I’ll be sharing what I wrote some time before but made the final edits yesterday…!

    Which continued to reflect on death and its sweet nature..!

    Kyaa Maut Khoobsurat Nahi…?

    Aap ek baar—

    Aakhri baar milte ho unko,

    Jinka parbhaav thaa aapki zindagi par;

    Aur,

    Uske baad yaa toh woh shav lakkad’on ke havale hota ha;

    Ya woh Kisi casket main,
    iss dharti ke naam ho jaata ha;

    Ya safed kapde main lapet,
    Woh kisi kabar main dafan ho jaata hai;

    ——

    Ek baar,

    Bas ek baar mauka hota ha unko dekhne ka,

    Unki chavi apne mann main utarne kaa,

    Bass,

    Bass ek mauka milta ha Unko aakhri baar,

    Apni zindagi main—
    Apni is choti se chaar dinon ke zindagi main,
    Unko dekhne ka;

    ——
    Aur uske baad kyaa…?
    ——

    Kya yaad aata ha kisi paraye ko…?

    Kya yaad aata ha kisi gair ko…?

    Kya kisi ke khyaal main bhee aata ha unka chehra—

    unke Kareebi’on ko chord;

    Jo aaye unse,

    Jinka unke saath roz ka milna,

    Jinke saath bitaaye woh khushi ke pal,

    Aur woh,
    Jinke saath zindagi jeene ka waada kar baithe thay;

    Unke bhee chet main aaye kabhi kabhaar abh woh chehra,

    Dunya toh kabh kaa bhulaa deti hai;

    Kabhi iss layak ho paaye toh akhbaar main patti lagwane par,

    Kisi bande ke chet main aaye toh woh phone kar le,

    Warna samay kiske paas itna jo mere saath baithe,
    Dukh farol’ay—

    Kya aisa hee hona mere saath…?

    Kuch pal unn ghar walo kee yaadon main,
    Aur phir kabhi kabhaar;

    Par khusi iss baat kee,
    Kee aaj bhee yaad aate hain,

    Nahi nikle poore tareeke se,
    Mere mann se—

    Kya karu…?
    Aaj bhee yaad aate ha,
    bohot yaad aate hain,
    Jo chale gaye mujhse dur—

    Kya maut khoobsurat nahi…?

    Jaane ke kayi saalon baad bhee yaad aate hain,

    Woh jinka saaya aaj hamare aas-paas nahi,

    Par kahi,
    apne aap ko sukoon,
    ke,
    kisi tareeke se bacha rahe ha humay,

    Woh jo gaye hamse dur…!!!

    Kya,
    Kya maut khoobsurat nahi…?

    A treat to all those who went through the trials and tribulations of time and still remember their loved ones…!

  • From Chawri bazaar to our minds :Aspects that make us unique…

    From Chawri bazaar to our minds :Aspects that make us unique…

    Which aspects do you think makes a person unique?

    Hey…

    I hope all of you are doing well…!

    This day started early as I think I fell asleep at 10 last night…!

    I’m writing this at 7:10 in the morning…

    I spent entirety of the day outside,

    After waking up and making a post yesterday morning bere,

    I freshened up and went to my workplace to give a bundle of material to hardening,

    And before returning home I made my first trip to buy essentials like ghee and at home I had brunch…!

    After that I went out to buy munchies and other kitchen essentials from Dmart near our residence…

    On returning home and taking another shower, it was three by now…!

    I got ready and went to Chawri bazaar for getting the card made;

    We walked to metro and reached Chawri bazaar within 20 minutes…!

    The wait on the yellow line was oh so much…!

    And after walking another 10 minutes because we got off on the wrong exit we reached this shop that was in such a secluded spot I thought we were going to get lost there…!

    A street leading to another smaller one and another one leading to another…!

    After giving them the format that we wanted,

    We waited and waited..!

    After getting no answer because the person who had to type wasn’t free;

    We decided that we will send them the pdf on our own and decided to return back home…!

    On our way back we decided to stop for pista badam milk which is famous in old Delhi;

    The name of the shop is

    Sudarshan Refreshment Centre…

    They also sell Kachori

    The small compartment that has kachori above and sabzi in the box below…!

    And on returning from the shop,

    I stopped by the Shri Gujrat Namkeen Bhadaar…!

    And bought some kaju both with pepper and plain salted…!

    Along with some thepla and fafda

    The fafda in question 😂
    Side view of the shop…!

    Before coming back home,

    We decided to buy some burgers for people back home from jumbo king burgers at Rajiv chowk…!

    And after waiting for it to get ready and sipping on our sprite;

    My sister and I talked about things like her suits and dresses,

    And on taking the burgers,

    We walked to the blue lines that led to our station and we got on the metro…!

    We decided to check out a Salon to get a basic idea of the rates of bridal makeup and they gave us a slip of 20k for bridal and additional 3k for each person that wanted to get their’s done…!

    And we came out of the salon with a laughter on our face thinking it would be in the range of 10 maybe 15k range..!

    So we will look for some more…!

    What a day it was…!!!!

    Coming back to the prompt…!

    Aspects that make us unique…

    If I’m asked this question,

    I’d answer this by saying that,

    the thought process

    and

    the behaviour

    That guides us to arrive at a conclusion works to make us unique…!

    If you have a corrupted thought process,

    Everything goes down from that place,

    Because it forces you to pick negative and bad thoughts more and after a point of time you feel forced to act upon them…!

    And when that happens the behaviour reflects what goes on in the mind,

    To all of the world…!

    On the contrary,

    If you have a better managed thought process,

    A balance of both leaning towards good side more;

    It reflects in the behavior and the people outside can see it too…!

    My answer would be a correct mindset with a positive thinking process,

    Along with that a behavior that reflects the same…!

    Cheers 🥂

  • Time, Temptations, and the Roads We Choose…

    Time, Temptations, and the Roads We Choose…

    You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?

    Hey…

    I hope all of you are doing well…!

    After waking up at 7:30 and wanting to stay a bit more in my bed made me realise it’s almost 8;

    I got up and changed my clothes and went out on my walk after my morning routine..!

    It’s currently 8:05 in the morning as I’m writing this one…!

    I’m really thinking what is there to talk about and what happened yesterday…!

    In the evening,

    I really wanted to have a drink as I stared at those bottles for in my cabinet;

    Well,

    Those glass bottles remind me of happy times that I spent with people around me,

    But;

    They also make me realise those night I spent drinking all alone,

    And drinking until I couldn’t and then going to sleep…!

    Both the positives and negatives of drinking(heavy emphasis on the negatives…)

    Well you’re socialising,

    I know,

    But it harms,

    Even a drop harms when it comes to your body…!

    In that case the mind wants more and more each time…!

    The glass is empty and your friend’s isn’t,

    He’ll pour you another one…

    A dangerous cycle it becomes…!

    (Khair…)

    It’s better to quit when you can,

    Before all of the bills pile up and you are spending your days in recovery…!

    Beware it’s a habit that kills, along with smoking and those hard drugs…

    Coming back to the prompt

    Cross country trip and my mode of transportation…!

    Well,

    This prompt critically sums up a problem within that isn’t visible on the surface…

    It’s your opinion on how do you value time…?

    When travelling by air,

    You reduce time spent travelling to mere hours or maximum of 20 hours from wherever you stand…!

    And when you look at it,

    You get the shortest path from one point to other…

    But by traveling by air,

    You cannot get to know people that you would otherwise on any other mode of transportation..!

    And even if you consider the person sitting on your left , right or both if you’re sitting in the middle…!

    If you’re travelling by train,

    You’ll find people from all walks of life,

    From bottom to upper class a mix that you won’t find anywhere…!

    They travel with the same purpose of reaching from point A to point B,

    And you can pay more to reach there faster,

    But that is at no comparison with travelling by air as it takes significant more hours and days at a time to reach if you want to even travel within the national borders…!

    Travelling by bus is a worth if you travel a lot though the night;

    Because you can sit in a bus in the evening around 6 and by 6 in the morning you can travel well across national borders,

    You can go one/two states over…!

    Accounting in it maybe an hour or two of stopping for passengers and their wellness…!

    Well at last comes travelling by car/bike

    Something that I live and have immense love for…!

    You can travel at your pace,

    Absorbing everything that comes with it…

    By meeting new people and comeing across avenues of life that weren’t possible travelling any other way…

    Because if you see a picturesque scene,

    You can just stop,

    Jump out of your car or off your bike absorbing everything that exists and maybe take a few pictures as a keepsake…!

    Also you meet people who are either going or coming back from the place that you want to go…

    You can travel at your pace and return as you wish,

    A drawback that it’s the slowest form of travel and takes more than hours and days, weeks if you plan on travelling cross borders(plural borders…!)

    How to save travel time is essentially the question here…!

    And how you value your time differs from person to person..!

    If you want to travel fast and reach quicker travelling by air is you go to,

    All other options are considerably less when compared to airway but with their own pros and cons…!

    If I had a chance I would travel cross borders on my car,

    If I can get my hands on such free and open time in my tightly packed schedule;

    Along with the money to afford visas and regular maintenance of the ride and those who are tagging along with me,

    My loved ones…!

    Cheers 🥂

  • Two phases in my life that were hard to let go…

    Two phases in my life that were hard to let go…

    Describe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to.

    Hey…

    I hope all of you are doing well…!

    It feels after a long time a prompt has come that I haven’t answered, and I’m all in for making this one a good read also to explore an avenue in my life that I suppressed…!

    A view into my life first, I’ve been looking for banquets each day after work and I’ve decided on two who are near the gurudwara which makes the travel easier and other programmes seamlessly connect with each other…!

    Well both of them are far from our home because we don’t have a banquet near our home…!

    So a lot of time has went into considering a good place and getting more out of our money…!

    Other than that,

    Work is going well,

    Because we are working each day and exploring new avenues and way to achieve the goals that we desire…!

    Coming back to the prompt

    A phase which was difficult to say goodbye to

    It isn’t easier to let go of things that made an impact in our lives isn’t it…?

    But,

    There are certain things that make them all worth your while and leave an everlasting impression on you…!

    Well losing someone who’s close to our hearts would be the first one…!

    A female dog birthed two kids and passed away right infront of our house;

    We took in her kids and within a span of few weeks both of them passed away as they were very little and weren’t able to get their mothers feed which was very important for their growth and their first few weeks here on earth…!

    We tried to get another female dog that also birthed a litter of puppies a few kilometres away but she rejected them and tried to bite them when we let them within her litter…

    On the offset that she might run away from her kids we brought them to our home and tried our best to save them—

    But fate had something else planned…!

    (Khair…)

    Another one would be parting away from someone who we thought were the love of our life…!

    Imagine you building your life around someone and they give up on you because their family planned something else or they found a more viable partner…?

    Something that breaks you from the very core and a mere sense of trust that you had breaks and shatters, making you lose yourself…!

    Well I hope it doesn’t happen with anyone else ever again…!

    I think,

    The things that happen around us shape us in a way that we were meant to have a grab of—

    I don’t mean passing away of a loved one is something that is good or builds character;

    But,

    It gives you a chance to see into the life by letting you see who is a real one and who was in just to leech off of you…!

    Who stands with you when time isn’t working with you…!

    And who all move away from you or face away when you get the short end of the stick…!

    Let’s not forget that all of us have to taste the sweet embrace of death once in our life and we won’t be here to witness what it feels like…!

    Keep those who are near to you near and tell them you love them…!

    Cheers 🥂

  • Doing away with dual meaning and walking away from people…!

    Doing away with dual meaning and walking away from people…!

    If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?

    Hey…

    I hope all of you are doing well…!

    Another already answered prompt forcing me to cut short my answer and get into one of my saved posts or getting into my notes app to find something worthy of your time…!

    Well an answer for the prompt would be something like this…!

    I wouldn’t necessarily ban a word because I’m not in a position to do that,

    But,

    what I’d like to happen is to do away with the dual meaning of words that happen after another generation picks it up…!

    For example the word

    Cooked,

    Meant that the “food was ready” but these days it means something else entirely…!

    These days in slang it means “to be in big trouble or exhausted”

    This duality has ruined a lot of words like

    Slay

    Glaze

    Bet

    Tea

    The list goes on and on…!

    I would do away with this duality because it’s hard for me to search for the meaning behind the slangs all the time…!

    One of my posts underneath

    You only see what you want!

    Don’t you…?

    No

    Sometimes,

    They only show what they want to be seen as,
    and they’re so good at it,
    you come to know this later…!

    They aren’t even a speck of what they act,
    like their behaviour and their actions can be the polar opposite of what they are with someone else…

    Glad I came and distanced myself,
    or rather,
    I’m glad things came up and brought distance between us…

    Now that I sit back and see,
    I cannot agree more with those pointing fingers at you because of who you are,
    rather,
    what sort of a person you are…

    I’m glad and breathe in peace,
    That,
    There won’t be any fingers pointed at me,
    for the fact that I am still in contact with you…!

    (P.s.
    I might have been in contact with you once,
    but,
    all of our connections are long gone,

    And I have not a single speck of regret for that…!)

    Cheers 🥂

  • A busy day and an advice to my younger self…!

    A busy day and an advice to my younger self…!

    What advice would you give to your teenage self?

    Hey…!

    I hope all of you are doing well…!

    I’m making this prompt at 8:32 at night,

    A nice change of pace this is…!

    There are a lot of things that I had to do today, one of them being looking for banquets for my sister’s wedding function…!

    And let me tell you this,

    The prices are outrageous, even if we have a programme for lunch they are quoting 3.5 to 4 lakhs for a programme that lasts 6 hours—

    10:30 am to 4:30 pm…!

    I’ve been dead tired spending my evening from these past few weeks searching one or two banquets each day…!

    Things that you have to do when you don’t have a father figure in your life…! 🤷

    Well it would have been a better support and something of a confidence booster but,

    There are something that you have to do on your own and life pushes you to do them too…!

    Coming back to the prompt

    An advice to my teenage self…!

    Spend as much time as you can with your parents and grandparents because they aren’t going to be in your life much longer…!

    And no matter how much the difference comes in within your thinking and theirs, you can nod your head and continue to work on things that you like, things that you love…!

    Even if this won’t give you money or earning in the short run it will help you get experience and a way to live this life better…!

    They won’t be available for all the time so just enjoy their company and the time that you can spend with them…!

    Maybe ask them about their childhood;

    How were they brought up and what they used to do…!

    You’ll for sure hear some tales that you can tell your kids someday and if you’re fortunate enough you can get your kids to hear them from them directly…!

    Well not in my case but it can be possible in yours…!

    Well don’t forget about telling your younger self about buying bitcoin in bulk and keeping it until 2026…!

    Remember the last advice and this is a last moment update(🙏🏻)

    Cheers 🥂

  • Eyes of children who never forget…!

    Eyes of children who never forget…!

    What bores you?

    Hey…!

    I hope all of you are doing well…!

    I don’t know how to tell you this but being consistent on this app has made me come to terms with the fact that most of the prompts are recycled…!

    This prompt was answered by me back in 2025 somewhere in the month of February…!

    I really got bored of the thing that I have to recycle,

    Well not recycle but sell you the same prompt yet again which I think hurts my creative front because of a promise I made to myself before I began writing…!

    So instead of the prompt you get one of my write ups today too,

    But it will be disguised in the form of prompt to give all of this a push that it definitely needs…!!!

    Eyes of children who never forget…

    There linger some feelings,
    Some emotions unspoken of;

    Some words with-held,
    Not brought to these lips,
    To keep those dear to us near…

    Whom we considered our own,
    Once pure,
    Now they won’t stay with us,
    Those known faces became unknown…

    They call our eyes droopy,
    A face that seems off,
    Hasn’t witnessed a shread of happiness in years,
    Dark circles that grow day by day,
    And the light of the eyes that diminishes as each day pass…!

    The eyes,
    Those eyes never forget…

    Unkept hair,
    A bunch of facial hair that grows haphazardly;
    Those dead-fish eyes that scare everyone,
    And staring into them feels like a slipping slope;

    Once you fell into them—surrounded by darkness you feel,
    With no clue what hurt them or continues to,
    they walk away from you without a care in this world…

    A sense of relief is seen in them when they indulge in their vice,
    A line of pure white,
    A pill with a happy face,
    A tab or two,
    Or a bottle that’s waiting to be emptied;

    When the white of the eyes turn red,
    Bloodshot—
    Only then,
    In a sense of euphoria,
    A sliver of smile comes on the face…

    On rare occasions we wish,
    These vices weren’t the only thing that made us smile,
    Made us feel— More human,

    But;

    As the buzz wears off,
    We are back to our self,
    Our usual miserable selves…

    With those eyes,
    We stare,
    With a sense that tries to find a meaning in everything;

    A thought comes to our mind,
    Here we are—
    “Here we are still alive…”

    Those are the eyes of children who never forget…

    Cheers 🥂
