    A deep sleep and an eye catching playā€¦

    What was the last thing you did for play or fun?

    Heyā€¦

    I hope all of you are doing wellā€¦

    The weekend is upon us and I hope šŸ¤ž youā€™re free from all the stresses until Sunday afternoon because thatā€™s when reality hits for the most of usā€¦šŸ˜”šŸ˜­

    The last thing I did for fun was wake up full rested a few years back when I was travelling with my family, I was actually so tired because during the whole trip I was the only one who was awake idk why am I like this but everyone was asleep but as soon as I reached a place known to me I hit the bed around 8pm at night and woke up at 10 am the next dayā€¦šŸ˜³

    It was 14 hours of me just sleeping thatā€™s it, there was nothing that woke me up and no one that disturbed me and after I woke up I remember drinking a pitcher full of water;

    A whole 2 liter in a single sitting, it felt like I was in the desert for the past hours and my throat was dry and I was hungry so I just drank my fill and woke up well restedā€¦

    ONLY THAT DAY AND NEVER AGAINā€¦

    It was a day and a half of travel and I was awake through the night tooā€¦

    I remember my family telling me that my eyes were bloodshot like there was literal blood running in them, I had indents of my wired earphone on my face and my phone was at 2 percentā€¦

    I wish to get that sleep once againā€¦

    Well that was a funny back story isnā€™t itā€¦?

    BUT FOR FUN;

    I usually watch plays,

    The last one was Khichik,

    Where I saw a couple and their parting after finding out that they were involved with other after falling in love with each other and them meeting yet again and completing their final years with each other until the main characters passed away one after anotherā€¦

    A beautiful play written by Shiv Subramanyam called snapshots from an album from the book Irani cafe and other plays..

    It was the first time I saw Girija Oak Godbole and Ghanshyam lalsa on screen and it was one of the best performances Iā€™ve witnessed;

    The director Divya Jagdale did a great job by making the cast work in such a fluid manner that it was breathtaking;

    And a proof that I did, Iā€™m attaching the photo of the performance I witnessedā€¦

    (Haha to prove my pointā€¦)

    Happy weekend to those who are celebrating and remember to drink plenty of water of you plan to binge drink or anything and remember buying recovery shots if you step out fill your groceriesā€¦

    Todayā€™s prompt is a weird one, like what does this even compare to, a few prompts back to back were very serious ones and required thinking on a higher level;

    But what would be my top five grocery store itemsā€¦

    Well,

    My first would be ready to cook pasta, not any specific type but all of them elbow, penne, fusilli, bow tie, spaghetti and so much more;

    They are versatile and go well with anything that you cook and they are easy to snack on and filling if cook properlyā€¦

    Second thing would be some sort of chicken, maybe itā€™s kebab or some cold cuts or even packed chicken breasts that can be whipped into some sort of curry or something of a semi dry dish like marry me chicken or even something that can be turned into fried chicken tbh the variety is never endingā€¦

    Third thing would be herbs and dried spices, if we are starting from scratch it would mean we need to have all of the things that are required to have a proper grocery run and one time purchase of these things can last a month too;

    I mean turmeric, Kashmiri red chilli(for color), standard red chilli which gives it the kick that it needs, cumin seeds, ginger powder, black peppercorns, cinnamon bark, clove, cardamom , mustard seeds, coriander seeds, fennel seeds and lastly star anise;

    All of these are a must have if you plan on making a grocery run for the very first timeā€¦

    Fourth wound be veggies, a staple would be potatoes, onion, ginger and garlic, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, mushroom(if the price is right) green peas, capsicum, cauliflower and spinach if the seasons are rightā€¦(do I need to explain theseā€¦?)

    The last would be pulses and being from India at least one time of cooked food has some sort of pulse wherever you go, imagine going to eat something South Indian food the staple idli and dosa including sambhar is made using pulses like rice and black gram(called urad dal here in our countryā€¦)

    Some other would be chickpea, kidney beans red lentil, peas, black eyed peas( called lobiya),split yellow peas, mixed pulses, mung beans, moth beans and so much moreā€¦

    I forgot to add eggs and that is very shameful for me because I have one every morning and almost forgot about them(P.s. a sixth edition from my side)

    With these five((6)) things you can conquer any of these recipe that works for youā€¦

    Men who shaped my life

    Describe a man who has positively impacted your life.

    Heyā€¦

    I hope all of you are doing wellā€¦

    There are a few men in my life who have guided me in a positive direction and given me a way to live this life in a much better wayā€¦

    The first one would be my late father, who was one of the pillars in my life he shaped my existence (literally) and taught me how to be a better person by just being present in my life and acting like a good father figure to look up to, even though we had limited time with each other,

    There are some decisions of his that I question myself but those were taken keeping in mind my future and the future of our family-led businessā€¦

    But I’m really grateful that whatever time we had together was spent in happiness and neutralityā€¦

    The second one would be my fatherā€™s brother, my uncle; he is the one who taught me all the business that our family has to date, and he taught me the basics and the complex things of the business that we now run together;

    He imparted me the sense of respect and how to please a client and negotiate what feels best for us (margin-wise) without having to cut deep into the pockets of any of our potential client a time of five years under his guidance gave me a different perspective at life also the shoes he had to fill when he was a child forced into this business tooā€¦

    The last one would be my friends, without them I’m just a wandering soul on this planet, they keep me grounded and also help me achieve what I am capable of there are so many instances that have shaped me that happened just between my friends which gave me a new perspective on life itself;

    They are with me when there was no one, and they shall be with me until the end of meā€¦

    These were the few men who positively impacted my lifeā€¦

    I hope all of you are doing wellā€¦

    Today’s prompt is a long reach not just for me but for any person who writes because we carry a lot of hope with each word we pen downā€¦

    With every word we choose, we craft our world, bringing it to your eyes and ears. A Writer’s heartfelt hope is that what we write is so immersive that you can truly step into the shoes of the person we are trying to portray;

    And,

    When this sort of experience is achieved and the reader lets us know that ā€œIt felt like we swapped places with the person in the writing and were able to feel the pain and happiness as their own..ā€

    There’s nothing better for me to hear than this, that a piece of text was immersive enough that it made them(the reader) believe that what they read was real(even if it was fictional..)

    Do you feel that there is anything better than people telling you that it felt like they were in the shoes of the person you wrote aboutā€¦?

    Not meā€¦!

    Well it depends on person to person what they feel makes them a better writer;

    It’s a Sunday and I hope today brings you some peace and happiness, and you open your eyes to your loved ones and embrace them first thing in the morningā€¦

    Tell us about your first day at something ā€” school, work, as a parent, etc.

    I hope all of you are doing wellā€¦

    Well Iā€™m not a parent right now and donā€™t plan on being one anytime soon, but if time and life exists Iā€™d love to have at least one childā€¦!

    Well I can share with you two instances,

    One being the very first day I started school. I remember it was a Monday and my mother and father drove me to my school where I saw children crying as it was the orientation day and as parents separated from their children they walked back to the school gate with tears streaming down their cheeks, screaming ā€œmumma/papaā€ whoever they were close with,

    But me,

    I was completely silent and wished them goodbye too, as I sat on my seat in an empty classroom because many skipped the first day as the children began crying as they came near the school gate;

    All in it was a good day, we had fun, learnt new things and that was it for the day, around 12 it was our time to go back home, and I remember tears in my Motherā€™s eyes as she came to take me back to home and i was happy to see her as we went back homeā€¦

    Another instance is first day at workā€¦;

    It was the middle of August and my father told me to swing by work, to drop off something that they forgot home, and as I arrived at the workplace I greeted him and gave him a file that he forgot, and as I was about to leave he asked me about work..?

    And I wanted to know what he meant,

    He said Point blank that he wanted me to continue our family business and also study as I got time to which I told him that either it will be work or studies because industrial work requires a strong backbone and working long tireless hours which in fact affect the other 16 hours of your life making you extremely tired and stressed about the next dayā€¦

    And as I started work I fought a lot with him with myself too, because all of the studies I perused came to a halt and all of my relationships built came to a standstill, because I hadnā€™t earned anything yet and I was given an ultimatum that they wonā€™t be spending any more money on my studies and I have to work thereā€¦

    And after learning that a piece of my feelings began to die for my father each day,

    But this day that my father is no longer among us I believe that it was the best thing to happen because we bonded over things that made us similar and I got to spend more time with him during his final years with themā€¦

    A win-win for the both of usā€¦

    Didnā€™t want to take it to such a negative point but life happensā€¦

    Well happy weekend to those who have the days off and enjoy your life to the fullest, hug your kids and tell them you love themā€¦

    Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?

    Heyā€¦

    I hope all of you are doing wellā€¦

    Yes, Iā€™ve had a few opportunities to present myself on stage with and without a group;

    I presented a speech all alone twice and I had all of the fear before it, legs feeling like jelly, those eyes staring at me like I owe them something, but once in my zone I performed what I had to it was a speech about a religious leader the topic that I picked way backā€¦

    Another one was a rather small group that worked in an informal setting a few strangers and a piece of information that we shared and debated it to come to a standard conclusion,;

    A mere two person discussion turned into a few people taking their side and my side, it was a topic that has such a deep belief that we all had views on it ā€œGodā€™s existence and his overlooking those who were unfortunateā€¦ā€

    And after the heat of discussion subsided we all had tea and called it a night as we walked away a bit better person, by learning someoneā€™s side and some facts that even changed our beliefsā€¦

    There were instances that we had musical performances during schooling too, which were often in groups because they shifted the focus and stress from a single child to the group, which was fun and enjoyable even for the audience because they were a part of us too as they enjoyed it as much as usā€¦

    A few instances but they shaped a version that can be traced deviated from a standard path to what it is now expanding foreverā€¦

    To experiences like these that shape us for the better;

    What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?

    The part of routine that I can avoid or skip would be the stress associated with work that constantly looms over my headā€¦

    The constant pressure of preparing, of being active and on my toes has broken the foundation that I stand on;

    Some days it feels like a break from it would be better,

    But returning to it feels like a trap that I exited for a little while,

    after seeing clear open skies I have to walk into the cage to be trapped yet again and work within these tubes that trap my existence within them for 10 hours dailyā€¦

    Well there arenā€™t many podcasts that Iā€™m in these days but there are a few that bless my earsā€¦

    One of the podcasts that I used to listen to was ā€œViolating community guidelinesā€ by Sarah Schauer and Brittany Broski;

    I know weird names but they complimented each other and the funny instances on their podcasts were so hilarious that I often laughed out while working making people think that Iā€™ve gone crazy šŸ¤Ŗ..

    48 episodes discussing the trends on the social media and what went on during the year 2022 and the end of it,

    Started in January of ā€˜22 ending in December of the same year, Ive found myself to go back to it year after year and boost my mood and give me laugh whenever life pins me downā€¦

    These days Iā€™m invested in a podcast called Alan watts daily wisdom and yes theyā€™re sharing the timeless teachings of the philosopher Alan watts through ai in his voice to all the world to listen and view tooā€¦

    Started a month ago and 24 videos in gathering a whopping 108k followers as we speak (on yt) Iā€™ve found it very helpful and informative by giving me insight to live this life better in ways that are often overlookedā€¦

    What was your favorite subject in school?

    Heyā€¦

    I hope all of you are doing wellā€¦

    Those times were the ultimate, we could play and be ourselves(our real self) without bothering anyone and do things that we liked instead of what we are right now,

    how we act today to get what we wantā€¦

    Leaving it at that,

    My favourite subject was history, in specific ancient Indian history, which I found very interesting due to a dedicated teacher and her clear vision to impart everything that she learnt during her life to her studentsā€¦

    The lessons were long according to some students (45 minutes) but I couldnā€™t get enough of them ever, also there were people who hated it from their very core;

    But there were others who loved it too and along with them we formed a group who were very much in love with it and wanted to learn as much as possible within a short period of timeā€¦

    We went on walks, explored locations and visited historic sites along with our teacher and learnt all the facts firsthandā€¦

    Many years have passed and most of us still remember the lessons that she used to teach us and often we remember how much condensed information she fed to us within a span of two yearsā€¦

    The best years of our livesā€¦

    Hope you find a teacher/sir in life that sparks such interest and curiosity in you that has ripple effect all over your lifeā€¦

    How do you manage screen time for yourself?

    Heyā€¦

    I hope all of you are doing wellā€¦

    Iā€™m pretty sure most of the world is suffering with this disease of a very long screen time, hooked on Instagram reels, YouTube shorts and videos, clips on TikTok and many moreā€¦

    Time seem to pass by so quickly when we are hooked on them that it feels unreal;

    You started watching them at 10 at night and suddenly itā€™s 1:30 before you can see the time on the phone which was there all the timeā€¦

    There are a lot of things that I use to achieve my goal of reducing screen time a few of them are->

    • Having a separate phone for doing writing without any distractions so that I can focus when otherwise I would find a way to stop writing and doom-scroll Instagram..
    • Tracking screen time on both my phones just to keep in touch with how much I used a single app and how much I need to cut backā€¦
    • Presetting a timer on each app which I use a lot for example I set a timer for an hour on Instagram which is a lot less from 4-5 hours which used to happen without knowingā€¦
    • Trying to avoid using phones for the first few hours I usually wake up and pen my ideas or any dreams that I had, which makes all of it interesting as it boosts my writing skills and also imaginative skills which help me remember what happened in my dream worldā€¦
    • And at last, I keep my phones a bit away from me like for charging away from me when I have free time so Iā€™d have to walk to it to get it as Iā€™m on my bed, which cuts the interest in getting up and grabbing it a bit moreā€¦

    The last one is a big mind thing I knowā€¦šŸ˜­šŸ˜‚

    And I hope these works for someone in needā€¦
