How our past self would view us today…

What’s something you’ve done that your past self would be proud of?

Hey…

—

I hope all of you are doing well…!

—

Well durga Pooja festivities are upon us and I wish a happy Durga Pooja to all those who are celebrating….!

—

We will be celebrating Kanjak on the day of Ashtami which is a Monday and on Tuesday we will be celebrating Dussehra…!

Coming back to the prompt…!

Something that my past self would have been proud of…!

Well,

I’m not someone who dwells into material wealth but,

I had a dream of owning an iPhone from the pro series which came true last night..!

As I’m writing this prompt on a 15 pro max…!

Not something many people would understand but this is a personal win for me and something that I did on my own and took no support from anyone even if it took 27 years…!

Another one would be taking care of the business after my father’s sudden demise…!

It was somewhat of a shock and it happened all of a sudden as his condition deteriorated all of a sudden and he left us all alone within a year of his first diagnosis….!

But,

I often talk to myself and say that,

Thank you for bringing me into this life, giving me responsibilities that I first thought I couldn’t shoulder but I did…!

A last conversation would have been nice—

But,

That will happen once we meet again…!

And when we do,

I will have a lot to all about and how much all of us missed him…!

Speaking and falling in love with my native language

At this time when people move away from their native language and embrace English or others language which have their own uses and grace;

But,

If that comes with losing your own language in the process I don’t want to learn any language ever again…!

—

Because this language is the one in which I heard my lullabies and I hope to bring to a pedestal before taking my last breath…!

I have seen people forget their roots more in Panjabi culture than anywhere else;

So I would advice the youth to at least talk to the people who come from the same community as you in your native language,

Just to keep the flame alive…!

There should be no problem in speaking the language which you were given by your elders…!

I hope I can carry this mindset forever and I hope I can keep on growing and improving myself as I age…!

Cheers 🥂

_Every situation has three dimensions; Your views, People’s views and the Truth. Success goes with the one who follows the Truth. The difference between seasons in a man’s life is simply an instruction._

_This spirit of trying to out-do others is wrong! Out-do your past and out-do yourself. Stop trying to out-do someone else because you don’t know the kind of journey God has given that person to run._

_We need to recognize that our accomplishments don’t make us better or worse than others. God doesn’t value us or define us by what we do; He looks at our hearts and why we do what we do._
