Learning to Breathe Again— This Morning, After the Rain…!

What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?

Hey…!

I hope all of you are doing well…!

I came here early as it’s 6 in the morning and Delhi is receiving rain…?

In the middle of march…?

I got up and pushed our clothes stand indoors, which was chilling in the balcony;

And Mithu , our pet indie dog started barking and howling at the cloth stand that we have…!

It’s now 7 am and it’s still showering;

I don’t know what is going on anymore…!

After scrolling some reels I’m on my terrace as soon as the rain went away…!

It’s now 8:18…

And the weather is soo beautiful,

A blue grey sky and our Indian flag in my line of sight…!

The cool breeze that is blowing occasionally makes it even more mesmerising…!

I was almost positive that I wouldn’t be able to go on my morning walk because of the occasional shower but this rain has cleared a lot of dust and brings out the vibrant colors around me;

Which makes me happy…!

Flowers of kadi patta plant…!

Walking right into our prompt

Things I do to cope with negative feelings…!!!

Well,

One of the things that I do daily to cope with these feelings are go on a walk…!

Well because it all used to start in the morning for me,

So I planned to change it by going on walks and distracting myself from it all,

The first thing in the morning…!

Because I usually pen down things that come on my mind early in the morning and it’s very easy for me to go and doom scroll,

Because it’s a shift from this app to that…!

So to avoid it all and spoil my entire day, I do all of the thinking and writing on my morning walk…!

Listening to music is something that is right up my alley—

When I feel like the world is overwhelming for me I just get away from it all by putting on my headphones on and listen to some soft tunes or focus on my breathing while having some frequency playing which helps me focus and shift away from negative feelings…!

Sit and observe

It might feel unlike me,

But, sometimes when nothing works I just sit still or visit a park or a nursery,

And think about things that are beautiful and tell myself there’s so much to live for;

Yes I tell myself there is so much to live for because sometimes thoughts coincide with each other as they aren’t far from each other…!

Meeting with friends and talking to them

Something that is right up my avenue is talking to my friends and hanging out with with them;

Often they say something that is funny and makes me forget about life and all of its problems,

The very root of my problems seem to fade when I am with them…!

And when that happens It seems I’m the happiest in this whole world…!

Read/Listen something interesting

This is something that happens rarely as I don’t have much time on its own,

But I do have time to listen to podcasts and audio versions of the book which I really want to read but don’t have the time for;

And it brings me real joy when I finish an audiobook or when I get some inspiration to think from a perspective different from mine…!

Well there are things that I used to do but those take us down a bad path,

Like drinking to cope with all of the pain and negative thoughts and ideas…!

And harming yourself to feel something other than sadness;

Like pain…!

But,

I’m really glad that I had the power to pull myself out of that situation thanks to people around me and their continuous support,

To the point it seemed like this life wasn’t worth living,

And I’m glad I made it out of all those time…!

Life is worth living,

Surviving all of the problems that come with it;

So keep your head up,

Look at things around you,

Sniff some flowers if you have to…

Whatever helps you to live and pull yourself away from the negative thoughts it works(not if it harms your life in other ways…)

Keep on living it will get better…!

Cheers 🥂

Love Waakiye 🤍

    I really enjoyed reading this. The way you described the quiet morning, the rain, the sky, and that gentle breeze felt so calm and real. It’s beautiful how you’ve found simple ways to take care of your mind walking, music, observing nature, and spending time with friends.🤍✨Sometimes these small, everyday things are what help us stay grounded the most. Thank you for sharing such an honest and thoughtful reflection. 🤍✨

      Thank you for reading it all Rajeshwari;

      This is something that I feel very strongly about because pulling myself from a place that broke me felt impossible at first;
      But later that journey became something that would bring this person,
      Waakiye,
      to all of the world…!

      Thank you again for reading it all…!

      🤍😇
