Three chapters that shattered the veil of reality for Waakiye;

What’s a chapter of your life you’d title “The Hard Years” — and what got you through it?

Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…!

There are three chapters that I’d call the hard years of my life and I’d like to share it with all of you and the reason behind it too…!

First would be the year I was forced to quit all of my dreams to join our family business…!

It was the year 2018 and I was preparing myself for the yearly exams of my B.com course from School of open learning…!

And my father decided it was my time to quit funding my education and I was forced into work and the first two years I basically killed myself forcing to learn the work that I didn’t study or train for…!

And thinking back about it I kept my head down and worked hard and I didn’t got paid for two whole years because they thought it was a better way to help me learn the skill…!

Yes I was fed and I could go anywhere on my day off but,

Imagine hiring your kid at work and not paying them and telling them to work without pay…!

(Khair..)

The second chapter that impacted my life a whole lot would be the 2020 lockdown…!

It ruined all of ours mental peace and well being of which we still face repercussions of to this day;

I know we do;

Children glued to phones not eating or drinking without it and the things we did just to kill time…!

Let’s not forget the everlasting effects of vaccines that made our lives miserable;

I know people who suffered tremendously after the shot and they still feel things like night tremors, depression, and many other symptoms that they didn’t feel before but do now…!

The third time would be when the tragedy happened right at home;

It was when my father passed away…!

It would be three years this September and we miss him in our hearts and minds each day…!

All of the things happened in a single year;

Terminal intestinal cancer and I was given less and less of a chance of survival;

A year max and countless hospital visits that made our lives miserable…!

The thing that broke me the most is something that he did the day before and I hope I don’t have to tell that to anyone but my eyes seem to tear up every time I remember him in that situation…!

Yup,

No one said this life was easy and neither was mine…!

But I do hope when I see a stranger that their life is a bit easier than mine…!

To loved ones who departed before us,

One day we will meet again and share how it was for us to be endure and face the world all alone without their support…!

Cheers 🥂
