Tips for travelling on a budget…

What’s your best tip for budget travel?

Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…!

Well to begin with let me tell you I haven’t been someone who travels for leisure or fun…!

There was a time in my life when I used to and that time is long gone…!

These days all the travelling that I do is because someone is born in our family and I go to give them my blessings and a be a part of the happiness and or someone is sick and we go to check up on them,

Or,

The worst case scenario— someone passed away and we have to be present there and help the family who are going through one of the toughest time in their lives…!

Well,

When I used to travel and even if I have to travel for fun or any other purpose I generally have a ballpark idea on how much I will be spending to reach there, staying there and returning home…!

This includes the money that will be spent on fuel, eating and a place for staying initially until I reach the destination…!

And

Once I reach there it’s another set of things that I have to tackle…!

First would be a place where I can safely secure my luggage, take a shower and have a comfy bed to sleep which is in my budget also somewhere we can get breakfast service too…!

.

Second would be a chunk of money that I will be saving to eat the local delicacies and buying things for the people back home…!

Which they would keep as memories that someone went out on a trip and remembered to buy a souvenir for them…!

.

Third would be some funds saved as an emergency if something were to happen and I’d had to pay someone some money;

Like if I bought a rental car and someone scratched it(or it was something that happened by me…)

I know it’s not my car but it will be inspected and I will have to pay for it…!

For a budget trip I’d recommend to travel within your country and it would help you to control how much you spend,

For a country like Thailand or Vietnam you would spend more on the tickets than what you would spend visiting hill station back here in India…!

40-50k inr for return tickets and for that amount you could spend two, maybe three weeks or a month if you stretch hard enough…!

Well that is how budget works for me,

In short travel local within your country and avoid places that are expensive and try to upsell you every chance they get…!

.

Try to explore the cuisine by researching beforehand and taking small portions if possible so that the money lost on food isn’t much…

.

Have a specific budget and stick to it,

Try to keep a mental note on how much you spend on things and if possible note them down so that you don’t overspend…!

….

Most importantly

Keep a memo of places or things that you want to discover once your feet land on the place that you wanted to visit…!

I guess that’s enough of a budget thing that we talk about,

Now you can go and enjoy what you went there to do…!

(If you can without worrying the money that you just spent…!)

Cheers 🥂
