Are possessions worth your attachment…?

Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?

Hey…

I hope all of you are doing well…!

It’s a Saturday and I hope you are waking up a tad bit early and completing all of the work that you planned(not your usual work-work) but some bank work(oh no you can’t do that because it’s a second Saturday…)

Maybe you have some plans to buy clothes or do laundry today or something that will take a good chunk of your time,

And you should do it early and be free later,

Maybe explore a cafe or a new restaurant today late this evening…!

(I’m out here helping people find new people…)

Coming back to the prompt

An item that I was really attached to…

Let me come clean out, I never was and never will be attached to anything that is of material possession, I don’t know if there’s something in me that permits material possession, but I believe that I was born hardwired not to…

There was something that I bought with my saved money when I was halfway through my teenage, literally 16 years old;

I bought a Garmin watch and that thing was like ₹10k…

But, even for that I got it’s use, because it lasted me at least 5 maybe 6 years…!

If we see that way it only cost me like ₹2k per year so it was a good investment back then…!

What happened to it; I’m pretty sure it sits somewhere in my drawer within in my room, once a cherished possession, it becomes misplaced within this room of mine once its life is technically over…!

Well, I think there is something about material possession that makes me think is wrong to attach yourself to it;

It had a date that some part of it was supposed to go bad, as soon as it was manufactured by giant corporations(that’s how they are made…!)

In my case it was the battery and it lost the power to retain its charge and I found myself charging it every other hour, rendering it useless;

and it went out of stock and company stopped manufacturing its part as it was phased out…!

But,

Other than that, nothing has come close to make it attached to my heart…!

Remember to do your chores early on so you can enjoy your evening later…!

Maybe take a few pictures of the scene or the general environment, maybe take a few of your pictures too; to remember this day…!

Cheers 🥂

    I think it’s really difficult to not be attached to some type of possession and it can be ok at times but we should truly analyze what we buy, why we do it, and what it means to us. Good read!

      Thank you for leaving a reply;
      I agree that it’s hard not to have possession with material things, but there is a finite amount of time it stays with us in the original condition until we buy a new one…
      For example a phone,
      It moves according to the time you can’t still sit on old ones because the new ones are better in performance and other features too…!

      I’m not talking about current times because all of these are a tad bit better than the other…

      And yes the purchase should be made keeping in mind the use and how much it dents our pocket, spending money on something that traps us in emi’s (monthly instalments that we pay) is a slipping slope..
